Transportation
Auckland’s integrated transportation network of buses, trains and ferries makes light work of getting around the isthmus, so there’s no excuse for not getting out and about when you have spare time during the tournament.
Cheap, dedicated buses run direct from Auckland International Airport into the heart of the CBD at fifteen-minute intervals, and it’s a short five-minute walk from the CBD (where Australs delegates will be staying) to the University of Auckland campus. Some planned social venues are a little further away (although still within walking distance), but we’ll provide transport for those who are weary after a hard day’s debating.
On the excursion day, Auckland Australs attendees will have the chance to explore the Waitemata harbour amongst other things. Waiheke Island is around a forty-minute ferry journey across the harbour and is home to scenic coastline and numerous wineries, which no doubt many will be keen to visit during the day.
